The Coffee Shop, open Fridays 10.30 - 1.30 is run by 'Friends of the Museum'.
The Brunswick Valley Historical Society collects, conserves and displays material, objects, images and documents that record the social, economic and civic history of the area. These objects and images are on display at the Museum in Mullumbimby.
The BVHS museum is housed in the old Mullumbimby Post Office building moved to the Summers Park in 1984.
The Brunswick Valley Historical Society has an extensive electronic archive that covers photos of the area and many items from yesteryear.
Copies of photos can be purchased along with a great number of books on the history of the area.
A large collection of published text and documents on family and local history is held and is available for research. All you need to do is contact us.
Exhibits currently on display include:
- 'Lights On' Hydro-electricity in the Byron Shire.
- 'When We Were At War'
- 'From No Where To No Where' Railway display
Historic agricultural machinery is on permanent display - from axes that cut down the big scrub to banana farming and dairy equipment.
