Heritage Park Mullumbimby

Traffic control measures will be in place on the day of the Paddle from early in the morning. It will not be possible to make left hand and right hand turns from a couple of streets, so plesae chek the map before you leave home, or follow the signs on the sid of the road.

On arrival at Heritage Park, you may stop to unload your kayak but then must move immediately away from the unloading area, to allow others to do the same. There is plenty of parking around the streets of Mullumbimby in that area.

There will be separate registration tables for online registrations and on thne day registrations. A Lions BBQ and coffee cart will be available, and T shirts and water can also be purchased before you take off on your paddle.

Terrace Park Brunswick Heads

After you exit at the Scout Hall on the left of the footbridge, be sure to bring your wristband over to the Information Tent at Terrace Park and pop it into the box for the $1000 BLA draw at 1.30pm.

You can catch the free bus back to Mullumbimby (one person please per kayak) from 9.30am and then return to the Terrace for the great food and entertainment until 3pm. Or you can stay around until the last bus at approximnately 12.30pm. The bus will leave from Brunswick Heads approximately on the hour or half hour, (or when full) and return immediately, so there should be no longer than a half hour wait. A last bus announcement will be made from the Soundshell stage.  The bus stop is outside the Fire Station in Fingal St, very close to the Terrace Park.

10km Paddle route down the Brunswick River

It is importnat that you launch your craft under the superb=vision of the marshalls at the main boat ramp. Other launch sites are not supervised and you will not eb covered by insurance should you slip.

Your journey down the river will a fun and safe one. Rescue boats will be positioned along the river in case you feel the need to stop or terminate your trip.

Challenge winners will be identified from the Brunswick road bridge and prizes will be awarded at noon after the opening ceremony. All paddlers must exit the river at the Scout Hall, not the small beach just after the road bridge. This is a safety issue as beginners, including children, will be trying out kayaks and SUPs in this area.
