Paddling Literature

Paddling Around NSW

A book "Paddling Around NSW" has been written by Scott Rawstorne, of East Ballina, and Geoff Greenwood, of Sydney.

Scott and Geoff document their own personal paddle trips in an easy to read format which provides a wonderful guide to many kayak experiences throughout NSW for other paddlers. They discovered these places in late 2008 as part of their epic ‘40 paddles in 40 days’ epic journey in which they explored the State’s most varied and beautiful waterways.

The book is available through paddle@escapology.com.au.

The book will also be for sale at the Mullum to Bruns Paddle on Sunday May 30, with Scott on hand to sign copies. Five dollars from every book sold at the launch will be donated to Heartfelt House.

To help protect the waterways of New South Wales, Scott and Geoff also have decided to contribute 10 per cent of the purchase price of every book sold through their website www.escapology.com.au to worthy environmental protection or conservation projects.

If you believe that you know of a cause that might fit the bill, feel free to get in touch with them via email to paddle@escapology.com.au.

Scott and Geoff say that recreational kayaking provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in amazing environments without disturbing them or leaving any trace of your visit.

“Mother Nature’s waterways are a gift to kayakers, and the inspiration for paddling around New South Wales,” Scott said. “This book is for everyone who knows the joy of floating quietly into nature, and anyone who has ever dreamed of picking up a paddle.”
